I tasted this along with another XO Cognac and a 15yr old Armagnac, of the three I would say this tasted the best. The nose is floral, sweet and fruity, very tempting. The platte is similar; fruity with hints of honey the cognac has a weight to it, oily almost in the mouth. The finish is a little rough; bitter and short For a VS this is very good, the let down is the finish for me, I'm not sure where the bitterness comes from but after such a sweet and floral experience it's not finish I hoped for. I would have said it has added sugar because it is sweet but Maxime Trijol supposedly do not add sugar or colouring to their cognacs. This would likely make an excellent cocktail cognac, especially for the price.
As a big whiskey Fan, for a change thought id try this, and love it. 'deliciously fruity' is what the bottling note says and its spot on, its so easy to drink i have to ration myself or it will be gone in a week. There's so many different drinks to try, but i'll certainly buy this beauty again
This is what the Elves should have offered Hobbits wounded by Sauron. It is the taste of summer distilled to a cognac. It is delightful and comforting.
I received a dram of this and was delighted! I plan to purchase a bottle.
