Veuve Vintage Brut Bottling Note

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Vintage Brut is a historic champagne, part of a distinguished line that goes all the way back to 1810 when Madame Clicquot broke new ground by creating the first known Vintage Champagne, a wine composed from a single, exceptional harvest. The 90s were a high point for Veuve Cliquot and this 1995 example is a fine champagne indeed, and one that will take further cellaring.


Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Zesty fruit notes underpinned by intriguing savoury flavours. Some nuts and a little mushroom, with a slight boiled sweet character in the background.

Palate: Hints of brioche, with the hefty savoury notes of marmite and truffle. fascinating complexity.

Finish: Crisp and clear and firm with a sappy acidity.

Overall: The 1995s are blessed with real firmness of structure. Delicious.
