Baron de Sigognac 1986 Bottling Note

A stunning rich, intense Armagnac from stalwart producers Baron de Sigognac. This stuff is aged in 420 litre oak barrels which impart tannins and vanilla flavour into the brandy, as well as rich notes of toasted oak. The result is a superb vintage brandy which goes brilliantly with a cigar or dark chocolate at the end of a meal.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Intense and rich with notes of golden syrup, prunes, plum wine, prune candy (mmm prune candy) and parmaviolets - very floral indeed!

Palate: Rounded and warming, with puckering notes of dates, sultanas and pear cider, some black pepper, truffle oil and prune appear too.

Finish: Long and zesty, lots of those truffle-y umami notes on the tail.
