Right then Ladies and Gents - time for this week's #MasterofCocktails. We're going to be making a drink I first tried a year or so ago at the Savoy, and is a drink created by the one and only @tomwalker86 for a Bacardi bartending competition, so it of course prominently features the classic rum at its core - yes, we're making a 'Maid In Cuba' recipe this week.

We were supposed to make it last week, so thanks for waiting patiently. Definitely well worth the wait, though. It's a good 'un.

This week's #MasterofCocktails marks the turn of the seasons. It's clearly autumn now, and with fireworks displays, Halloween etc. coming, clearly we need a hot buttered rum recipe.

Like many 'oft-neglected' classics, this drink has a simple problem, with a simple solution. The problem is immiscibility, by which I mean that butter and rum simply don't like each other and don't want to play together. One's Lipophlic, or Hydrophobic, or some other shit that I can never remember. Basically we need an emulsifier. That's where the lecithin comes in...

Right then cocktail fans. Time for this week's #MasterofCocktails extravaganza. This time, we're making a Banana Daiquiri recipe. Course we are.

This is a rather prep-heavy drink, and with most of it we will be able put it together a day or so in advance. Following that, all we'll need to do is remove it from the freezer, give it a quick blitz with a stick blender, tip into a glass and garnish. Master of Cocktails The Spiced Black Truffle Palmetto

This week's drink (a day later than usual due to the bank holiday) is a twist on a Palmetto recipe, using the amazing Rumbullion! XO along with a couple of superb vermouths, and Bitter Bastards Black Truffle Bitters. The Black truffle notes add a superb, almost ethereal balance to the drink that makes it probably my favourite creation of the last few months.

It's a simple drink to make, which I'm sure will be welcome after last week's (and next week's) more prep-heavy drinks.

International Wine & Spirit Competition 2014

The folks here at MoM Towers aren’t going to win the World Cup anytime soon. Our team, Bitter Bastards FC, are just a few players short of a full squad and therefore wouldn’t qualify, so the German team has nothing to be worried about… Yet. We’re also not going to win Wimbledon, despite a small subset of us being pretty gosh-darn good at squash (they’re basically the same sport, one just has more passive aggressive connotations and a wall). Oscars? Probably not. Grammys? Unlikely. Nobel Peace Prize? Doubtful at best. Medals for making stunning drinks? Now you’re talking!

That’s right, that little preamble is leading up to us proudly showing off the medals our products scooped up at the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition 2014. We’re always immensely excited and grateful when the products we make are commended by the highly knowledgeable tasters behind these awarding bodies - it really does mean the world to us.

Master of Cocktails Hemingway Daiquiri

After a break from Daiquiris on #MasterofCocktails last week, they're back in force with probably the finest evolution of the drink – maybe with the exception of Artesian's Frozen Banana with Caviar... and I'll be having a crack at recreating that one in a few weeks' time incidentally... but this week we're going with The Hemingway Daiquiri.

He liked a drink or two did old Ernie, and this recipe is a fine legacy indeed. The theory here is essentially unchanged from the standard, only we're going to be replacing boring old sugar syrup with Maraschino. The original recipe also calls for a splidge of Grapefruit Juice. Not convinced it needs it myself but we'll stick it in anyway and you can easily omit it if you've not got grapefruits in (who does, usually?).

Right then y'all. It’s time once again for #MasterofCocktails. This week's drink (and next week's come to think of it), are both drinks that you *should* feel comfortable ordering if they're made correctly.

They are both pink though. Very pink.

This one (as you may have guessed) is a Strawberry Daiquiri. We're making it properly, which means no strawberry syrup, no strawberry liqueur and absolutely no sweet and sour mix. Shall we?

Master of Cocktails Daiquiri

In this week's #MasterofCocktails we’re making what is probably the most abused drink in the history of all time: The Daiquiri.

It's such a blisteringly simple drink when done correctly. Rum. Sugar. Lime. That's all.

Now, there are some variations worth lauding (we're going to do a few over the next couple of weeks), but the classic version is one that should be in everyone's repertoire.

The recipe really couldn't be simpler. Can you remember the following?
