The grapes used for the Riglos Quinto Malbec 2011 come from the Las Divas estate Gualtallary region, 1,300 metres above sea level. The Argentinian wine producers used a grape composition of 92% Malbec and 8% Syrah, which were manually harvested. The wine rested for 6 months in second use French oak barrels before being bottled.
Nose: Cherries by the bunch-full! Ripe and succulent and delicious cherries, along with some floral notes of lily and violet. Nutmeg spices come into view if left to breathe.
Palate: The fruitiness continues on the palate with well balanced tannins and a good amount of acidity.
Finish: A fairly long finish.
Overall: Despite being relatively young, this Riglos Quinto Malbec 2011 is delightfully smooth and has a subtle complexity that makes it really quite enjoyable.
