'10 Ken Forrester Gypsy
The Gypsy from Ken Forrester is made with a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre grapes, which have been harvested from the Western Cape of South Africa and hand-selected to go into this yummy red wine. It spends 12 months maturing in oak casks, before the finest of these casks are selected, blended and then matured for another 12 months. The 2010 vintage features a good deal of oak and spice characteristics, with warming notes of nutmeg and cinnamon coming through clearly. Lighter hints of vanilla come forward nearer the finish.
