John Duval Plexus 2013

John Duval Plexus 2013 Bottling Note

Southern Rhone style blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre from former longstanding Penfolds winemaker John Duval. A more complex and elegant style than many Barossa wines, it is matured in oak for 15 months with just 8% of that being new French oak, so the oak enhances rather than dominates.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Rich purple in colour, the wine is full of soft black fruit and peppery spice. There are some dried fruit flavours too, an indication of the hot climate of the Barossa, it finishes with velvety tannins and a considerable length.
