Greywacke Pinot Noir 2009

'09 Greywacke Pinot Noir Bottling Note

The grapes for this fine Pinot Noir come from Marlborough's southern valleys and have been allowed to ferment on the natural yeasts on the skins of the grapes. The wine has been aged in 45% new French oak barriques.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Red cherries and berry fruits form an intriguing nose with a slight herbal quality. The palate is a little savoury to begin with, followed by bigger red berry fruit flavours with velvety tannins. The finish is long and satisfying and marks this out as a great wine with fantastic depth and complexity.

John Hooper

Just sank a bottle a friend brought back from NZ.

It's a great pity she did not bring more back.
