Mother's Milk from top Australian producer First Drop is a wonderfully quaff-able Barossa Shiraz, matured in French oak hogsheads for 12 months. The 2013 vintage had a somewhat turbulent growing season, with a good start but a windy and slightly chilly spring, though the end result is still a cracking red, perfect for pairing with a thick steak.
Big, bold and juicy up front notes of blackberry and cherry, supported by light spice and carried on soft tannins.
