The Fat Of The Land range from Australian winemakers First Drop highlights Shiraz wines from single vineyards in the Barossa Valley. This 2009 vintage comes from the Ebenezer, matured in French oak hogsheads for 24 months before being bottled. A big, bold and powerful red. Yum.
Nose: Cor blimey! Mountains of mulberries, piles of plums and dark chocolate in the distance.
Palate: Powerful but lighter than you would think. Meaty black cherry goodness with fine tannins. Hints of smoke and minerals.
Finish: A nice, long finish.
Overall: Intense and indulgent. Beautiful stuff, and it's ready to drink now.
