The 2012 vintage Pinot Noir from the Calvert Vineyard, owned by Felton Road, is a dark, brooding New Zealand red wine, which matured in French oak barrels for 13 months before it was bottled. Felton Road are known as one of the best Pinot Noir producers in the country, so expect great things from this.
Nose: A bouquet of floral lavender and dark cherries. Hints of tobacco, spice and rhubarb.
Palate: Sturdy, elegant tannins and continued notes of cherries and raspberries. Great acidity.
Finish: Oak appears on the long finish.
Overall: Top notch stuff, and it's ready to drink right now, so grab a bottle, a glass and enjoy!
