Escarpment The Edge Pinot Noir 2011

The Edge Pinot Noir 2011 Bottling Note

Escarpment is located in Martinborough, New Zealand, and was founded by Larry and Sue McKenna and Robert and Mem Kirby who wanted to create a definitive style of Pinot Noir for their winery. The Escarpment Pinot Noir is fuller-bodied than many of its counterparts and has an alluring smokiness.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The oak is quite present on the nose and is joined by a fruit compote of berry fruits and hazy smokiness. The oak and fruit form a full-bodied palate with balanced acidity and reasonably gentle tannins. The finish is an extravaganza of red and black berry fruits.
