Dom Pérignon 2003
A wonderful Champagne from Moët et Chandon, Dom Pérignon 2003 is a balanced, rich, almost vegetal wine. Hints of tropical fruits, ginger and aniseed. A top vintage!
Have tried a lot of the fine champagnes, Krug, Bollinger Grande Annee, Roederer Cristal, etc, all excellent and all quite unique flavours. For me personally though, I prefer the Dom Perignon. 93 was a great vintage, but now, unless it's oenotheque it's past its best. 96 and 2000 also excellent. It's my champagne of choice. The tour of their cellars in France is also well worth a look; fascinating how much trouble they go to.
