Cloudy Bay Sauvignon '14 Bottling Note

Sauvignon Blanc from one of the top New Zealand producers, Cloudy Bay. The 2014 vintage comes from a good growing season, with a warm spring resulting in one of the earliest harvests in 30 years for Cloudy Bay. The grapes were grown in the Rapaura, Fairhall, Renwick and Brancott subregions of the Wairau Valley.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Lime peels, elderflower, ripe stone fruits and a grassy touch bestowing more character.

Palate: Fresh and full with more fruits and crisp minerality. Grapefruit and passion-fruit persist.

Finish: Lasting mineral notes on the finish.

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2014 Reviews

New Zealand has much better vineyards

Firstly I live less than an hours drive from Marlborough and regular visit the vineyards to have lunch / buy wine. Cloudy Bay present themselves as a bit elitist. Their wine is ok but there are much better for less money. I believe these are available in the UK - Whither Hills / Allan Scott / Villa Maria
