A pinot from the one of the best-regarded producers in New Zealand's Marlborough region.
Nose: Complex, with layers of cherry, woodland berries and spice. There's cinnamon and tobacco with a hint of dry leather.
Palate: The palate is big and soft with lots of raspberries and blackberries. Hints of cranberry and rhubarb, with a white pepper savoury spiciness.
Finish: The savoury pepper is joined by lingering dark chocolate.
Overall: The 2010 is a wonderfully structured wine.
