Here we have the 2021 vintage Assyrtiko from Artemis Karamolegos harvested from old vines, some of which are over 120 years of age! The name '34' refers to the 34 centuries of viticulture on Santorini, and assyrtiko is a white Greek wine grape indigenous to the island. The wine was matured on lees for around nine months, while 10% of the blend was matured in third fill oak for five months. Hints of savoury and mineral notes surround zesty fruit, making it an ideal pairing with shellfish.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Hints of toasty wood, lemon sorbet and apple skin alongside mineral flint and a dash of savoury salt, with a touch of crystallised ginger.
