Ghosted Reserve 21yo Bottling Note

The second release in William Grant's Ghosted Reserve series (the first edition was rather good, in case you were wonderin') is a 21 year old blended Scotch whisky, featuring spirits from three closed distilleries - Ladyburn, Inverleven and Dumbarton.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Orange and lime peels, with a hint of orchard blossom developing later on. Hints of toffee and raisins.

Palate: Another helping of orange peels on the palate, joined by banana and sharp tropical fruit. A touch of peppery malt.

Finish: Floral on the finish, with a slight nod towards milk chocolate buttons.

Ghosted Reserve 21 Year Old (William Grant & Sons) Reviews

Ghosted 21

Absolutely outstanding, orange peel and Mandarin, custard apple and toffee through the middle and then liquid Christmas cake at the back that goes farther than the nullarbor. A bottleshop in Warwick farm Sydney still has stock. What an experience.

Get one if you can find one

This whisky does not need water. Orange peels up front, followed by a very sweet and delicate hint of custard apple in the middle. The finish is liquid Christmas cake and boy does it have some length on it. I got a 6 pack, now a four pack. Gonna be a 3 pack before the weekend is out.

Very nice. I heartily recommend it

This is a unique, yet fine, tasty scotch blend.
It reminds me of a nice champagne without the bubbles. Thoroughly enjoyable, and worthy of being an introspective dram on a quiet spring night.

Last post subject should have read "Great night of tasting...with this puppy first!" Looks like we had too much of a good night :-) Review still stands though....had another glass and it's still outstanding!

Great nice of tasting with this puppy first!

Having a scotch tasting night with the boys. The process is to try and comment on every one we have this evening starting with this bad boy. Nice after taste - spice and cherry with a hint of vanilla. Very sweet on the palate, toffee and caramel. Last note: these bottles were on special in Canada...from 180 per bottle down to 90. Half price...are you kidding! Fantastic!
