Wemyss The Malt Barn Bottling Note

This Bunnahabhain, bottled by Wemyss Malts, is pale and golden in colour, and as the name suggests, it's a malty and full bodied dram. Bottled at 46% abv.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: This is subtle, delicate and structured with oily, smoky notes reminiscent of engine rooms, hessian sacks and malt kilns. There's also the characteristic salty tang found in Bunnahabhain with some sweet caramel notes too.

Palate: As the nose suggests the palate is rich and oily, with sweet malt and clean light smoke notes.

Finish: The salted caramel oozes slowly off the tongue.

Overall: A great and involving dram for fans of smoky malts.

User Reviews of the Wemyss The Malt Barn 1997 (Bunnahabhain)

Pound for pound

Pound for pound the best whisky I have tasted thus far. Master of Malt tasting notes spot on, the finish was sublime. I was fortune enough to have bought a bottle and have coveted it during one year.
