Waterford Hook Head 1.1 Bottling Note
Once again, the Waterford Distillery has gone and created an Irish single malt whisky using barley grown on a single farm – this time, the barley came from Hook Head Farm, grown by Martin Foley. Waterford's Single Farm origin series explores how terroir can impact a whisky's flavour profile, making for a fascinating range of expression where you can taste the differences between each one.

Seaweed & Sherry Cask #02
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Softly coastal and flinty, with a whisper of grassy sweetness to it.
Palate: Clove, caraway, and toasted bread. A hint of praline and honey gives it some sweetness.
Finish: Subtly fruity on the finish with apricot and pear.

Waterford Single Farm Origin - Hook Head 1.1 Reviews
Promising and distinctive
Really good quality spirit at the heart of this, and a lot of tasty malty character which I wish there was more of in whiskies. Different to the other one I tried too.

Not a “no” from me, but there’s better out there
A bit underwhelming if I’m honest. A beautiful bottle on the shelf and I love the single farm origin idea, drinkable and enjoyable certainly, so it won’t be wasted, but a little harsh I felt up front and not the most flavoursome neat dram. Might actually work well with a mixer (can’t believe I said that) with a curry!

A new character in Whisky.
A thoroughly enjoyable whisky. Shows much promise on things to come from this young distillery.

Poor attempt trying to produce a high end whiskey
For me unfortunately none of the above is true - it was harsh on the nose, harsh and burning on the pallet and harsh on the finish, thus masking all the above flavours.
Vastly over priced - would not buy again
