Tullibardine 11yo TBWC Bottling Note

An 11 year old single malt from the Tullibardine distillery, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The label shows King James IV going on a bit of a moan about how this beer he bought on the future site of Tullibardine on the way to his coronation would be better if it was distilled, and how the scones at Scone are more like stones. Some people are never happy.

Batch 6 is a release of 753 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Soft vanilla, white chocolate and maple syrup lead with fresh orange and an underlying touch of cereal.

Palate: Waxy orange and lemon, supple honey and buttered pastries followed by a hint of toasted oak warmth and a prickle of black peppercorn.

Finish: Rock cakes, dried apricot and a hint of bitter pink grapefruit.

Overall: A lovely, on-the-money Tullibardine bottling.

Tullibardine 11 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Reviews

and now for something completely different
I took a punt thanks to a substantial discount and it definitely paid off. This is really quite unusual whisky, perhaps not one for beginners. Lot's of unripe bananas, papaya, fruit salad flavours, kiwi fruit again on the unripe side and a touch of cocoa powder. Really intriguing. Palate is same same but different - same flavours, different mix - and adds a milky mocha. The dusted cocoa powder comes forward over the fruit and something a bit more savory.

This has a really interesting flavour profile so if you're looking for something a bit different this whisky is definitely recommended. Really fun whisky if a bit bonkers.
