Tullibardine 2007 Murray Bottling Note

This edition of The Murray collection from Tullibardine was bottled at cask strength! Distilled in 2007, it spent many moons in first-fill bourbon barrels, until 2019 when it was bottled at 56.6% ABV. Just 15,200 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Vanilla orchid, buttery pastry, lemon curd.

Palate: Lemon tart, vanilla cream, and Scottish tablet, with peppery oak bringing balance.

Finish: Buttery oak and more lively citrus.

Reviews for Tullibardine 2007 - The Murray Cask Strength
Average whisky, GREAT packaging!
The packaging was what really caught my attention, and then I saw the ABV. Pricing was not bad, so I picked it up. Honestly for what I paid, I'm not terribly disappointed, but well, it's no hidden gem either. It's a perfectly average dram which I can't quite find a proper use for. Strong lemon character with just enough vanilla to balance it out. Not very sweet. Nose underwhelms, palate is decent, finish is decent.

If you see this on sale, snap it up for an excellent shelf piece. No, I'm serious, the packaging is truly magnificent. Beyond that however, Tullibardine remains just quintessentially Tullibardine - average.
