Torabhaig Cnoc Na Moine

A heavily peated single malt from Torabhaig on the Isle of Skye, aged in a host of bourbon and American oak oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The mash was peated to a bold 78.4PPM before distillation, with the final spirit weighing in at a satisfying 19.7PPM. This is the first official release from the distillery to be given the sherry cask treatment, and it brings a splendid balance of fruit and leathery spice to the robust smoke at its core.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Flamed citrus and dried charcoal, soft peat, sawdust, vanilla, and sultanas.

Palate Meaty peat smoke, balsamic poached fruits, woody spice and sweet, leathery oak.

Finish Grilled stone fruits, bonfire smoke, charred oak, a touch of tobacco.

Reviews for Torabhaig Cnoc Na Moine - The Legacy Series
Well worth it
Just had to purchase this after I tried it in the Pot Still earlier. I really wanted to like this after finishing the Alt Gleann and instantly took to the peaty nose and the palate was light and citrus with vanilla and honey sweetness- not a long finish so made me want more .

It’s a good’un
I found it took a little while for the whisky to open up and the first few drams out of the bottle were quite restrained. Then as the liquid in the bottle oxidised a little…hey presto! I agree with the MoM nose and tasting notes, and now it’s revealing itself, I can honestly say It’s very tasty. Just give it a bit of time and you will not be disappointed!
