Tomintoul 14 Year Old Reviews

46% fruit gums!

Tried this for the first time last evening and enjoyed every one of my 3 drams. It's very fruity on the nose - fruit gums, in fact - and this fruitiness continues on the palate but now with a floral/perfumy edge. The finish is long and smooth with a touch of spice. All in all, a very pleasant whisky.

Smooth and silky. Apples toasted caramel and sea salt. Light! Wonderful!

The second best whiskey I have ever tasted! Great bargain.

Good

A good whisky, like Arran 10 and Old Pulteney 12 style.

I loved this I am fan of single malt.

Very good single malt, I don't want to share.

Good whisky, but a step backwards

This is a good whisky, but it's no longer the all-natural non chill-filtered, no added colouring bottling. It now contains caramel colouring, which is detrimental to the craft presentation. All the other official bottlings have artificial colour and are chill-filtered, I thought the whole point of this one was that it's a natural expression. Evidently not any more. Not sure if the decision has come from the distillery or Angus Dundee (the owners), but it's a step backwards, and a sneaky one at that.

A Beautiful Piece of Art

Beautifully crafted. Marvellous experience. The light floral nose surprised my palate with its malty, creamy, vanilla, pastry-like taste. It escalates the experience to another level when the dram is swallowed. The taste just lingers on, with such gentleness yet imposing to the taste memory. Almost a perfect match to the steamed Asian cuisine I had that evening. Will be stocking up if I can get hold of it here!

In my Top-10

Amazing! Opened a bottle at a Super Bowl party and had my friend texting me the next morning for the name of this pleasant dram.
