Tomatin Decades II Bottling Note

Behold, Decades II from the Highland Tomatin distillery! We were treated to the first release of Decades back in 2011, produced to mark former distillery manager Douglas Campbell's lifetime commitment to the distillery. Now we have Decades II, which is a tribute to all members of Tomatin, past and present. The single malt has been drawn from 21 casks, a mixture of bourbon, sherry, re-charred French oak and Verdejo wine casks, making for an intense and complex flavour profile. Decades II is a limited release of 3,600 bottles at 46% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sweet almond croissant, with fresh hay, stewed apple and creamy coconut, supported by white floral aromas.

Palate: Classic festive spiciness, with ginger, nutmeg and oodles of dried fruit, orange chocolate and maple syrup drizzled over pancakes.

Finish: Waxy citrus, oily malt and fresh tropical fruit, followed by chai-spiced dark chocolate.

WOW - Must buy !!!

No age statement but the whisky gives you all details of which casks were used in the making. Stupendously delicious. There are casks from the 70's in it too which is mind boggling.. Well done to the distillery.

Exceptional Single malt whisky

Absolute stunner of a whisky by Tomatin, gives clear break up of casks used from past 50yrs on the box. This whisky has moved very quickly on the top of my table. Highly recommended.

What an amazing whisky this is, went to tasting in London and learnt all about how this whisky came to life. It is just fascinating to learn that a good percentage of this whisky is from the 70s. Perfect blend of some amazing casks from yester years. Great affordable whisky for what it is..!!

Excellent Tomatin! Storing this one on the top shelf...

Amazing Tomatin bottling tasted at The Whisky Show in London (2019) as part of the pre-release. Fantastic depth and complexity that I found surpassed the Tomatin 30!
