Tomatin 14 Year Old

The Tomatin 14 Year Old was introduced to the core range in 2014. It features Highland single malt matured in bourbon barrels as well as specially selected Port casks, imparting wine-like sweetness to the whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Quite a powerful nose. Big bunches of red berries and grapes. Vanilla, oak and hints of white pepper.

Palate Dark chocolate dipped in strawberries. Crushed almonds, walnuts, Victoria sponge (with plenty of the prerequisite jam and cream in the middle) and a centre of oak.

Finish Fruity on the finish.

Overall A neat addition to Tomatin's collection.

Decent, Nothing too great.
Tried it seeing the raving reviews.

Decent whiskey, but not as good as the 16 year whiskey they make.
Not as subtle like the 16year old.

My husband's favourite Whisky
I purchased this for Christmas last year, and have done so again as my husband thinks this is the best whisky he's tried. And he's tried quite a few!

Very nice dram if like port
Having recently returned from Porto and learning that old casks are sold to Scotch whisly producers I thought I'd give this a go, particualrly as the Tomatin 18yo sherry cask finish is one of my favourites.

It has a beautiful reddish-brown colour and you can definitely taste and smell the port. It's sweet but not too much, and its taste is distinctive enough to make it a worth addition to your drinks cabinet.

Little bit disappointing
Sublime nose, very fruity. Then when nipping you taste a predominant spiciness that puts all other flavors far into the background. That's a pity... disappointing finish... For me it deserves only 3 stars... just for the nose then...

Wonderful
Wonderfully fruity and rich. I always loved the discontinued 12 year old Quinta Ruban by Glenmorangie but felt their 14 year old replacement was inferior. This is an excellent alternative
