Tobermory 10 Bottling Note

A gentle, affable 10 year old single malt from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. Now at the higher strength of 46.3%...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Barley sugars and toasted cereal, supported by hints of winter spice and soft oak. Salty melted butter and ground ginger develop.

Palate: Quite sweet and light. There are elements of acacia honey and continuing oak from the nose. Smoke and black pepper notes rise gently with a touch of dried fruit and peels. A flash of cinnamon later on.

Finish: Long and herbal with a touch of pepper.

A wonderful unpeated dram.

Light fresh and a nice change!

I am only just realizing how unique this Whisky is and I'm nearly at the bottom. It is in one word fresh, and light and a nice change from the normal. It is an unpeated Ledaig 10 as Macallan gold is the unpeated Springbank 15, Slainthe!

Beautiful, like slim, pale nordic maiden.

I have been marinading myself in sherry monsters for the past year and a half. Whether because all the best casks have been used up or because my taste buds are saturated I can't say but they seem to be becoming a bit samey (too many "no age statement" i.e. young whiskies on the market now).

Long story short, I decided to broaden out a bit more (not the waistline though) and this was taking up space on the shelf with about a dram and a half in the bottom.

Wow! Light, fruity, airy, sweet, ginger.......I am smitten all over again. Now I've bought another bottle so I still don't have space. damn. Guess I'll have to drink it then.

Takes me back

I first tried this amazing single malt (along with its peaty sister Ledaig) on the ferry trip from Craignure on the Isle of Mull to Oban and I knew I would need a bottle when I got back home. Wasn't easy to find but now that I have it very happy I do. This is an incredibly unique single malt only thing I can think of that tastes like this is Loch Lomond original in that it has the same buttery note but this is more herbal and coastal with a similar hint of peat as well. Incredibly complex for 10 years this really take me back to Mull an incredibly remote and beautiful place only wish I could have visited this distillery . Cheers! The Sugarbear

Full on flavor.

Tasty, smokey, spicy, haggis in a glass. Strong drink. Great value for money. If you do not like booze, best give it a miss.

Fantastic

Love this, just slightly different from other islays but up there and if you hunt around a bottle can be found for £30 which is an absolute steal.
Would recommend to anyone
