The Macallan Forties

The Macallan Forties Bottling Note

Part of a series launched for the Travel Retail market by Macallan in the late 1990s/early 2000s, this expression was created to reflect the flavours of their whiskies produced in the 1940s. A creamier, more bourbon-cask-influenced Macallan than the heavily-Sherried Macallan you'll likely be familiar with, and with a particularly pronounced peaty hint.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Caramel, dusty oak, slightly herbaceous.

Palate: White chocolate, almond, a few touches of fino sherry.

Finish: Apple, basil leaf, cinnamon.
