“I have been given a bottle of enigma as a gift, it is fair to say I have never enjoyed a whisky like it. In my travels I have tried a number of whisky brands and styles, none compare to Enigma. I shall continue to sip and enjoy this exquisite nectar, thank you Macallan.”

The Macallan Enigma

At the high end of Macallan's Quest Collection (released for the Travel Retail market) sits the Enigma, an expression drawn exclusively from European oak Sherry seasons casks. As you can imagine, these casks have imparted a wealth of rich, sweet, lip-smacking sherry notes to the Speyside single malt.

Nose

Root ginger, mint chocolate, poached pear and dates.

Palate

Diced almond, treacle, honey, raisin, raw cinnamon and a touch of cacao.

Finish

Enjoyably oak-y on the finish.
