The Macallan 52yo 2018 Bottling Note

Yes, you read that correctly. This is a bottle of Macallan single malt Scotch whisky that has matured for at least 52 years. Drawn from a first-fill European oak sherry seasoned cask, this whisky has very patiently aged for over half a century, and bottled with an outturn of 250 bottles. Extraordinarily rare stuff from the much-adored distillery in Speyside.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: Wood vanillas open with a hint of spice. Ripe blackcurrants and an earthy tone combine with a background of subtle peat to give a rich body

Palate: Sweet oak vanillas, fudge and toffee coat the mouth. Distinct black peppercorns follow to provide gentle warmth with deep sweetness joining from orange peel and figs.

Finish: Incredibly viscous mouth coating, long and slightly dry from the subtle peat notes.

Macallan 52 Year Old (2018 Release) Reviews

phenomenal

absolutely phenomenal whisky. Best neat, cant stand people who add coke to something like this. I've tried many different types of whisky, some more expensive, some cheaper, but for me, nothing compares to this.

Greatest Macallan of all time!

Having drunk Macallan for over 30 years, this one is truly exceptional. Very possibly the greatest ever release. Buy for a special occasion.

Tastes really rich!!

It tasted ok with a ice cube but I'd prefer going neat with this, have some relishing flavours that I didnt find in other whiskey.

Tastes bloody incredible. The best drink I have ever tasted and it stuns anyone that might have the pleasure of trying it. Worth every penny.

Incredible whisky, a privilege to be able to taste in ones lifetime! Disappointing to see MoM letting people make such ridiculous comments as above tho, I mean how is it possible to have a 52 year old back released in 2018 back in 1971 lol!
