Oh, and they never expire...
Here we have a truly stunning Speysider - it's the impressively sherried 2019 edition of Macallan's 25 Year Old Sherry Oak. It's matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry oak casks from Jerez for a quarter of a century before it's ready for bottling. It weighs in at 43% ABV, and is presented in a rather handsome bottle complete with a striking wooden box.
Nose: Citrus, balanced with cinnamon, sherry and wood smoke.
Palate: Full and rich, with dried fruits and a hint of wood smoke.
Finish: Long, with dried fruit, wood smoke and spice.

Heavily sherried, smooth and decadent - a lovely after dinner luxury. Whether it’s worth four times the price of a single-cask Glendronach of the same age is a matter of debate, but the market thinks so! How long Macallan can carry on hiking up the prices by 10 percent per annum is an interesting debate to have.
