Macallan 30 Year Old 1989 (cask 13342) Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Macallan 30yo 1989 #13342 Bottling Note

A very impressive bottle of Macallan, independently bottled up by Douglas Laing for the Xtra Old Particular series. The Speysider was distilled in 1989 and left to mature in a single refill hogshead. Three whole decades passed, and in May 2019 the single malt was bottled at cask strength, weighing in at 53.5% ABV. The cask yielded just 249 hand-filled bottles, complete with glass stopper decanter, wooden presentation case and even a certificate of authenticity.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: The nose opens with a burst of flambéed orange, with sugared dates, fresh leather and a dunnage warehouse character.

Palate: On the palate, expect rich and fruity dark chocolate raisins, with plums, tropical fruits and a hint of pepper.

Finish: The finish is long with an abundance of chocolate, malted barley, marmalade and more rich red fruits.
