This was distilled at the Macallan distillery in October 1978 before a 26 year maturation in a single cask. It was bottled for Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range in June 2005 and is a release of just 302 bottles.
Nose: Sweet spices and a predominance of manuka honey. Fresh cream, flavoured with vanilla and cinnamon.
Palate: Dried grass and biscuity barley malt. Allspice and peppermint develops.
Finish: Long, buttery finish with something vaguely floral on the tail.
Overall: Rich and very interesting.

I was fortunate to have this bought for me about 12 years ago. It was utterly delicious....sweet, nutty and everything you would expect from a Macallan......but even more! Mine was less expensive than this.....under £100 but, if you want a real treat, have won the lottery and can actually find some.....BUY it!!
