This is a very rare bottle of Macallan from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range. It was distilled in June 1979 before a 25 year maturation in a single refill hogshead. It was bottled in May 2005 and is a release of just 302 bottles.
Nose: Spiced, malty nose with hints of cooked fruit, nectarine and bourbon.
Palate: Vanilla and butterscotch, baked apples, allspice and toasted oak. Very rich and fruity.
Finish: Long, spiced finish.
Overall: A toasty, bourbon-influenced whisky.
