Macallan 15 Year Old Bottling Note

A fantastic single cask Macallan whisky, which spent a 15 year maturation period in a refill sherry hogshead. Distilled in October 1997, it was bottled on 14th March 2013 with just 227 bottles produced. Light and fruity in character, there are dried fruit notes too and pastries. Delicious!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Prunes, a little ginger and a hint of sherry give way to more perfumed notes, apple blossom and freshly made hot cross buns with apple pieces and orange peel. Caramac bars. Pear skin, hot, sweet pastry and vanilla.

Palate: Chopped red apple and sweet sultanas compete with some maltiness and oak beneath the surface.

Finish: Crisp walnut and chewy oak with hints of raisin shortbread.
