Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite subtle and of medium-body. There are notes of rich, lush stone fruits and Bramley apple, a hint of peel and some Calvados notes. There are some dry wood notes with a definite mustiness. The palate is quite full and round with plenty of bourbon notes. The winter spices and vanilla crème abound with a chewy oak underlying. A little dark chocolate appears. The finish is of medium-length with dry oak.

Not their best

I am a HUGE Macallan fan, but, I find the 15 Year Old Fine Oak to be overpriced and way too harsh. No complexity at all. I have it on my shelf to "round out" my collection of Macallan 30,25,18,17,15,12, and 10. But I never drink it.

Macallan does it again!

Another great dram from Macallan. Not as rich as many of their expressions but I personally like this. A light, flavoursome whisky with a slightly spicy and long finish. I believe Macallan have now discontinued this so get it at a reasonable price while you still can!

It’s definitely a high quality malt. It’s smooth with some oaky complexity but it’s light.

Discontinuing

Are they discontinuing Mac 15 Fine Oak?!? I heard that they are discontinuing the 17 & 21 Year Old Fine Oak.

Why the HELL are you discontinuing this brand! It's awesome and the best priced scotch for the money!!
