Nose: Quite astonishing with just a few drops of water, sooty biscuit, custard, chamois leather, quite earthy. Flamed orange peel, malt, ginger snaps, touches of mango, lime and hemp rope.
Palate: Round and robust. Peat, oak and cinnamon with hints of apple and vanilla pod.
Finish: Long and peaty with smoky oak, but it's all very luxurious. That Port Ellen runs right through this whisky and it's simply fantastic.
Overall: Dream whisky really. Switch the telly off, pour yourself a glass and savour.
