A rounded, smooth blend, the Antiquary 12 year old is a great whisky which Jim Murray awarded an incredible 92 points to in his 2013 Whisky Bible.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is light and well-balanced. There are notes of malted barley and honey, a touch of spice and fresh fruit salad. The palate is of medium-body with notes of calvados and barley, a touch of honey and mixed peels and notes of oak. The finish is quite long with oak and caramel.

Good as a cheaper "everyday" whisky and to impress guests who are new to scotch

Coming from Old Pulteney and Glen Garioch at first I didn't find this one sweet at all. In fact I found the spirit burn overwhelming and could taste very little in this whisky. Yesterday I left my glencairn glass aside, poured on a tumbler with 3 spoons of water (more than I've put on any other scotch ever) and I enjoyed it a lot more. Still can't get much sweetness though. I get an older profile, maybe a dash of honey, and oddly I think some smoke on the finish that nobody else seems to mention.

A great scotch whiskey

I was introduced to this fine product by my 20 year daughter who recently went on a self-guided tour of Edinburgh for a week. She brought back the small airline bottles for several family members as a token. We live in Fort Worth, Texas so we're used to drinking beer, lots of beer and locally brewed whiskey. She knew I liked whiskey so I got a small bottle. After sampling this scotch whiskey I will definitely buy a full bottle as I immediately fell in love with the taste. Very smooth.

A whiskey to drink on its own.

Very nice smooth whiskey. The nose has a hint of honey sweetness but also something sharper, like fresh green salad. Very easy to drink, with the light sweetness dwelling on the palate after the initial sharpness. One of my favourite whiskeys.

Good value

I just opened my first bottle. Definitely soft sweet grain to start, much like Famous Grouse. But then it becomes more complex with yellow raisin sherry notes. The type of sherry flavor in Glenfarclas. Not too hot on the finish either. It's a good value for $29.99 in the US. However, it is hard to find. I bought mine in Chicago, but isn't available in Ohio.

Was given a tip by a friend, told that it is hard to find but well worth it. Wife got me a bottle for Xmas 2015, only have a double once a month, a very special indulgence to be drunk on it's own, no ice (I have marble ice cubes that chill but don't dilute or influence the taste), no additives, no sharing. As yet (and I am 65yrs old), this is the only whisky I would confidently recommend to a whisky drinker, knowing that it will be a remarkable addition to their 'whisknology'.
