Bourbon Supreme - 1950s

Bourbon Supreme '50s Bottling Note

This isn't just bourbon, this is Bourbon Supreme! Made in the 1950s by the American Distilling Co., Bourbon Supreme claims to the the "world's only charcoal distilled whiskey". While we're not sure that's still quite the truth these days, it must have been pretty darn impressive back then.

User Reviews of the Bourbon Supreme - 1950s

I do not drink anything else. Water glass in one hand and a pint in the other

I have drank Bourbon Supreme for many years. What happen to the gold tassel that was on the 5ths?

My dad's drink in the 1950's. I remember the bottle with the tassel. He later switched to a blended whisky (Windsor Canadian?) & then to scotch (Passport).

Dad's Bourbon

This was my dad's favorite. He gave us our first taste in 1963. When he discovered that the carbon distilling process was permantly damaged,, he began buying up all he could find. He died in 20+ years ago. Thank God for his stash. Now we only get it out for special family gatherings. If the kind you tasted was not charcoal filtered, you didn't have the " REAL THING". I am sorry for all of you.

I was introduced to Bourbon Supreme in Germany in 1961. We were an "Air Section" in a VII CORP "Target Acquisition Battalion". We would get it at the base for $1.90 for an imperial qt. those were good times. Haven't seen it since.

Two Harbors

When we were kids in the early 60's we always drank bourbon supreme. We liked to save the tassels. We would give the "scout" $5 to buy it for us. We got our fifth and he got the change. I don't know how much it was. It wasn't very good, but we liked to hang the tassels on our stick shift. We thought that anything named "Supreme" must be top shelf. Not so.

Bourbon Supreme

I had two of those and it must be the worst bourbon i ever drank. Nothing but alcohol burn and no but no taste at all. Perhaps it had when produced but it died then in the bottle after so many years. But then again i only paid 30 euros for those two.
