8 year old single malt Irish whiskey here, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The label is a reference to the common misconception that all irish whiskey is triple-distilled. However, they could have simply made that fact in a way that doesn't confuse us. It looks like there are three pipes in that spirit safe, but it also looks like there are only two!
Batch 2 is a release of 876 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Apricot, whipped cream, honey and barley.
More honey! More apricot! A little hint of cracked black pepper at the core.
Buttered toast and Seville orange marmalade.
Glorious whiskey. I found it to be thick, rich in flavour and very easy to drink. Reminded me of a type of white dessert wine, full of dried apricots and sweetness. Definitely get that whipped cream vibe in the notes too. Absolute winner apart from only being a 500ml bottle. Anyone hae any ideas on the distillery it came from? Wouldn't mind trying some more of their stuff if its all this good!
I’ve always “liked” Irish Whiskey but never been wowed by it, until now! This 8 year old was an absolute delight. Do your self a favour and buy a bottle whilst this batch is still about.
Absolutely brilliant - no harshness to it, but packs plenty of flavour and has a wonderful lingering finish. So good we have immediately bought extra for when it runs out
I tried this as part of an Irish Whiskey Advent Calendar. This was easily the star of the 24 drams. Stunning. Biscuity, creamy and fruity. So unique. Easy 5/5
