Teeling Single Malt Bottling Note
The eagerly anticipated Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey, made with 100% malt whiskeys. A selection of five wine-cask-finished-whiskeys were used for this release, including Sherry, Port, Madeira, White Burgundy and Cabernet Sauvignon. Exciting, delicious stuff from the Teeling chaps in Dublin.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Intense white grape juiciness on the nose, joined by fresh malt and Rolos, developing into white chocolate the longer it's in the glass.
Palate: An elegant expression, this. Well placed fruit, backed up with cinnamon and white pepper. A touch of dried flower petals along the way. Strawberries?
Finish: Definitely strawberries, with fresh double cream too! Ace.

Teeling Single Malt Reviews
This doesn't quite work for me
It would be difficult to mistake this for Scottish whisky, although the Auchentoshan 18 I had a few weeks ago did share a similar taste profile, being also triple-distilled.
This Teeling is....very soft. The distinctive mouth-feel is the over-riding impression but there is also quite a bit of bitterness in this dram, which is not exactly in keeping with the Sauternes-like style. This has been breathed for several hours in the glass before being tasted. I don't get much complexity from this. I suspect that the 5 cask blending is there to make up for its youth.
This is a bit too bitter to be pleasant and too soft to be characterful. This is a confused whiskey in my opinion, like a harsh desert wine. Hopefully it will develop in the bottle over the next week, but as it stands, I won't buy this again.

A Pleasant Enough Single Malt
I get grape and raisin flavours with a metallic after taste as if I'd been eating wine gums. Smooth and pleasant enough, but my favourite is still Teeling's Single Pot Still.

Good bodied malt whisky
I have drank many whiskies in my time but Teeling is the best. Nice smooth taste your tongue tickling your taste buds. I would like to taste the 34yo malt but at £25000 a bottle I can only dream

There is a lot going on here
Initially I was not impressed as it’s hard to discern what going on. But after several drams, I see more of the port and white grape flavor. Pretty good, but I think for the price there are better options for my taste.

A more flavoursome whiskey
I found this to be one of the best Irish whiskeys I've tried. I normally prefer scotch but this has a lot of flavour, not at all bland, lots of character.

Decent Single Malt
Good solid Single Malt, but there is nothing brilliant about it. However, its a well rounded whiskey and smooth
A little expensive for what you get

Bought for me as a present, I would not buy it or recommend it.
Far too much alcohol, burns from beginning to end. Far better whiskies out there at comparable prices. As for the strawberries and cream finish-Ha!

Mixed Drinks Only
Visiting Teeling’s distillery in Dublin. Notes dive set up. Their whiskey - not so much. Had the tour and tasting. I’m a whiskey drinker. Let me put it this way- straight was harsh-I coughed some out at the taste, with ice and water -a little less harsh, in a mixed drink-good. Jameson or Bushmill’s cheapest whiskey tastes better than Teelings. If I get Teelings as a gift I’ll use it for mixed drinks only.

Great value.
Must be reviewed in the context of malted grain. Full body, but smooth. No bite, just feel and finish. Bite comes from straight grain, this has none. All the aromas on a beautiful smooth palate. Exquisite without pain.
