Teeling 13yo Revival II Bottling Note

The second bottling in Teeling's Revival series, created in celebration of the opening of the Teeling distillery in Dublin. Interestingly, this expression was aged for the first 12 years of its maturation in bourbon barrels before being transferred over to ex-Calvados casks for the final year! A release of 10,000 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: White peach, candied peels, rose petals, flaky pastry with caramelised brown sugar, white chocolate and cloudy lemonade.

Palate: Spicier than the nose suggests, with an exciting rush of ginger and mint. Nougat, red liquorice and lots more stone fruit notes follow.

Finish: Strawberry bon-bons, tobacco leaf and light wafts of lemongrass.

Cider

The apple aroma is there when you open the bottle for the first time. I have had this hiding away in the back of the drinks cabinet for the last year not knowing what I was missing. A truly beautiful whiskey. 13 years in the casks and it has a light golden colour you see on a cider sometimes. Have to look in to getting another bottle.
