Talisker Storm

Talisker Storm was released in early 2013 as a no age statement whisky, which was matured in specifically selected refill and toasted American oak casks. An intense and vibrant dram, the Storm offers up plenty of distillery character alongside some smokier depth and complexity.

With a classic Talisker profile, a depth of beautiful flavours and a very reasonable price point, this is an ideal single malt for those thinking of exploring malts from the Scottish islands.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Initial brine, but not as abrupt as the 10 Year Old, quite creamy by comparison. Banana. Banana angel delight? Window putty, hint of sticking plasters and barbecues, citrus. White pepper develops towards the bottom of the glass.

Palate Thick and mouth-coating with wood smoke, brine, some tin and chilli heat too.

Finish Red chilli peppers and oak dryness with a hint of embers.

Overall A welcome addition to the Talisker range, and probably the smokiest whisky to be produced on the Isle of Skye.

Reviews for Talisker Storm
Smokey
Bought this on offer, really good value.
Certainly is very smokey which suits me.
Now on my favourites list.

Probably my favourite whisky on the msrket
Saying the above probably doesn’t really give it the praise it deserves. It is smooth and has a great taste not too fiery but mellow and smooth. When it is on offer at the price you recently offered it became a “no brainer” to purchase 6 bottles!!! - looking forward to a future reduction in price from your good selves

Good whisky, but not at full price
Really nice talisker, I prefer it to the regular 10yo. There are other options around thay price point, but went it comes on offer, it's a great value extremely enjoyable whisky.
Peaty, robust, fulsome.

Very good value
My paternal family background is from the Isle of Lewis so Talisker is naturally one of my favourite malts.
Not having had Storm for a while I was surprised to see the paleness compared to the previous bottles I have had.
This does not detract from the flavour however.
It is smooth on the tongue with a good smoky aftertaste, a very pleasant malt.

Preferred this to Dark storm which I didn''t like - we hadn''t seen that before. This has lovely peaty character

Perfect smoky storm
Lovely smoky briny and get the banana foam vibe, totally . Delicious , glad I risked buying this as I don't usually like phenolic peaty stuff , but I 'm getting used to it. 😁😋😋😋😋

A Storm in a teacup
Not what I expected - I only tried because it out of curiosity and because it was on offer.
Having tried the 10 year old before this was softer and more mellow than I expected to begin with but with a subtle woody smokiness-a real depth of flavour so much going on with hints of spice and a sweetness too. Easy to drink and the taste lingers pleasantly on the palate.
Also tried it with some strong cheddar and a blue cheese- perfect combination who needs port!

Not my cuppa!
I was kindly given a dram of this as part of an order and, in my opinion, it smells like coal tar soap and tastes like Jeyes' Fluid. I write this, not to denigrate the whiskey but to highlight how different some people's palates are. Most strange.
