Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Chilli-chocolate, honey'd malt, a good waft of sea breeze and green peppercorn.

Palate: More spicy pepper and herbs up front, with smouldering peat developing. Creamy mouth-feel, with notes of Toffee Crisp bars and sea salt.

Finish: Lingering warmth and a sweet nuttiness right at the end.

Talisker Friends of the Classic Malts Reviews

Not so special edition

Was looking forward to this as bought it myself at the distillery in 2009, I think. Very disappointed. Much more unsettled than any other Talisker I’ve ever tasted and almost “soapy”. The very strong peaty flavour meant it was definitely drinkable all the same but had expected better of a special edition like this.
