Talisker 30 Year Old (2007 Special Release)

Talisker 30yo (2007) Bottling Note

Part of Talisker's yearly release of 30 year olds, all of which have been fantastic, and really well-received. This is the 2007 release, matured in a mix of refill American and European oak.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is very peaty and smoky. There are coastal notes and paraffin. Hints of beexwax and kelp with thick wood smoke, Bramley apples, marzipan and oily nuts. The palate is thick and full. There is an abundance of sour citrus from the offing, notes of cut herbs and crab-apple, pine oils and building peppery oak. A touch of iodine emerges with thick peat and wood smoke. Notes of sea weed rise. The finish is long and coastal with peppered oak.
