Talisker 1974 (Gordon & MacPhail) Reviews

Beautiful

I bought two bottles of this in the late 80's on a visit to the distillery. One for myself which was drunk pretty sharpish and one for my father in law. When he died in 2010 lo and behold there it still was in his drinks cupboard! Needless to say I drank the second pretty sharpish and excellent it was. I'm not sure if whisky is supposed to improve in the bottle but it certainly drank superbly well with any rough edges beautifully smoothed away. I guess if I'd thought about the value I might have thought twice about drinking it, but then again...
