This 7 year old single malt Scotch whisky was independently bottled by the Svenska Eldvatten chaps in Sweden. The whisky itself comes from "An Islay Kildalton Distillery". The three distilleries on Islay's south coast are sometimes referred to as the Kildalton distilleries, so this should be from one of those. We'll leave it to the Islay whisky lovers to hypothesise.
It was distilled in August 2007 and matured in a single ex-bourbon barrel until September 2014. 45 bottles were released.

I bought this for my husband's 50th and it has been a complete hit. All the whisky drinkers in the house (fans of Islay) said this is quite simply the best they've tasted, completely unlike anything they've tasted (better than Lord of the Isles). Fills the mouth with strong flavours but no hint of harshness. Oily, peaty and unctuous but some stone fruits too. We are hoping to stockpile the rest of the bottles, so good luck getting there before we do!

Amazingly, it must be an Ardbeg. "An Islay Kildalton Distillery" refers undoubtedly to Ardbeg for obvious reasons and not even a small swedish indy bottler wouldn't put it's reputation on line giving an impression it's Ardbeg if it isn't.

regarding the previous comment, this definitely tastes and smells more like an ardbeg than any lagavulins i've ever had. sweet, coal smokiness.

Svenska Eldvatten says it comes from one of the Kildalton distilleries (Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig) and further on that it is from a distillery they have NOT bottled from before (which excludes Laphroaig). Only two distilleries left…
