In celebration of St George's Day 2014, St. George's Distillery released this limited edition bottling of English Whisky Chapter 13 single malt. The label was chosen through a competition by the distillery. The winning entry was made by Emma Garner, who created this abstract piece encompassing lots of lovely English things, like tea, Big Ben and chaps in top hats.
Nose: Hot, sticky brown sugar in the pan, with creamy vanilla, dried fruit and a hint of wood. Dark chocolate comes through if left for a minute.
Palate: Thick, golden syrup and more plump raisins. This develops with the oak spices from the nose and cracked black pepper - all well balanced, of course.
Finish: The finish is lengthy and drying.
Overall: Top quality English whisky.
