Distilled at Campbeltown's Springbank distillery in October of 1996, aged for 7 years in refill sherry and finished for two in first fill Marsala casks before bottling in August 1996 as part of a limited release of just 7,740 bottles.
The nose is quite rich. Notes of cut hay and earth, a touch of dried grass and notes of wet stones. There is a gentle, smoking peat with notes of fraises des bois, dried strawberries and a touch of nuttiness with apricot conserve. The palate is quite full and rich with a good sweetness. Notes of marmalade and tangerine, hints of mixed jellies and exotic fruits, a touch of oak develops. The finish is quite long with a little more orange.
