Green Spot is a fabulous single pot still whiskey and much loved by the critics. This Irish whiskey has come far from the days when it was only sold in Mitchell's grocer shop in the heart of Dublin, though its flavour profile is still just as robust. The whiskey has matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon casks as well as sherry casks.
Hints of peppermint, malt, sweet barley, sugary porridge, creamy vanilla, papaya and citrus.
Spicy and soft, gentle bourbon oak, green woods, menthol, potpourri.
Creamy, long finish, vanilla.
Very good Whiskey. I’ve been a fan of Jameson. I am now a fan of green spot. Green Spot similarities of the black barrel reserve Jameson with a smaller price tag. Extremely smooth. I will try the Yellow Spot next and compare to the 12 year Jameson. Love my Whiskey.
By far the smoothest and best-tasting Whisky I have ever tasted.
It feel like my heart has been wrapped in an electronic blanket. It has no bite. It's St. Petters jizzzzz... And I'm gay for it.
This has been one of my absolute favorite whiskeys since I had it in an Irish pub in Salzburg (back when I was young). Thanks to master of malt I can get it in the states for the first time in decades! It's nothing fancy, but at the price it beats all the commonly available Irish whiskeys in my book (and even some good single malt scotches).
Quite impressive for its combination of richness, smoothness, length, and complexity.
