House of Macduff Selkie Bottling Note

The Selkie blended malt scotch whisky was devised by Iain MacDuff of Cumbrae Supply and House of MacDuff. It was created in limited batches from a blend of selected, non-chill-filtered malt whiskies to try and make a modern, accessible blend that can still be appreciated by Scotch connoisseurs.

The packaging was a result of Italy’s Malleus Art Rock Labart attempting to pair art nouveau with graphic novel-style illustration. It pictures the mythical Selkie in human form. It is said to be so beautiful in human form mere mortals instantly desire one for a partner. There is catch, however. Its true form is that of a seal. A seal that sheds its seal pelt when it fancies being human. Maybe stick to the whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Freshly baked crusty bread loaf, wood smoke and a touch of walnut initially, with vanilla and soft citrus in support.

Palate: Crisp cereals, butterscotch and drying spices emerge with a flourish of orange blossom.

Finish: Clean nutty oak lingers.
